The criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases at the court of first instance of Tunis sentenced, by default, former minister Mondher Zenaïdi, who is on the run, to 19 years in prison, with immediate execution of the sentence.
According to the judicial authorities, the prosecution of the judicial center for the fight against terrorism had opened an investigation against him for several charges, including the establishment of a terrorist agreement, incitement to join it, conspiracy against the internal security of the State, as well as acts aimed at modifying the organization of the State. This information was communicated in September 2024 by the official spokesperson for the judicial center for the fight against terrorism.

According to information communicated by the anti-terrorism judicial center and reported by Mosaique fm, an investigation warrant was opened against the former minister on suspicion of forming a group with a view to plotting against state security, forming a terrorist organization, but also inciting people to join it, insurrection, disobedience and attacks on internal security.
These prosecutions originate from the broadcast of videos on a social media page bearing the name of Mondher Zenaidi, in which he explicitly called for insurrection against the regime in place, its institutions and the President of the Republic. This content led to his inclusion on the list of people wanted by the anti-terrorism justice system.
Warrant of bringing
Let us remember thatan international arrest warrant had been issued by the counter-terrorism unit, on October 4, 2024, against Mondher Zenaidi, but also against Rafik Abdessalem, Anis Ben Dhaou and Thameur Bedida, due to publications, including videos, on social networks.
In September 2024, Mondher Zenaidi had been accused of several offensesincluding forming a terrorist organization, inciting people to join it and conspiring against state security. Since then, he has been on the wanted list.
