The criminal chamber specializing in financial corruption affairs to the Tunis Court of Appeal sentenced, in the evening of Thursday, July 3, 2025, the businessman Chafik Jarraya to sixteen years in prison in the context of four cases concerning him, linked to contracts for the sale of confiscated property.
The Court of Cassation had previously canceled an appeal judgment which had sentenced Chafik Jarraya and other accused, including a former official of a municipality, while granting them the merger of prison sentences pronounced against them in the four cases.
After returning the files to the Tunis Court of Appeal, the latter decided to dissociate the four cases and not to group the sorrows, condemning each of the accused to sixteen years in prison.
