During the periodic meeting of regional health directors, held from September 22 to 24 in Tabarka, the Ministry of Health announced the integration of 15 regional hospitals into the teleradiology system and 16 regional hospitals in the teleconsultation system. These measures aim to modernize medical infrastructure and improve access to specialized care.
Modernization of the hospital network
This decision is part of the strategy of digitalization of the health sector. Thanks to teleradiology, regional establishments will be able to transmit and analyze medical examinations remotely, thereby reducing diagnostic deadlines. Teleconsultation will make it possible to facilitate access to specialists for patients located in distant regions.
The Tabarka meeting, organized in coordination with the Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tunis, made it possible to address other themes: the management of public health purchases under the supervision of experts, as well as the national and global epidemic situation.
Digital health and epidemiological surveillance
On the sidelines of the work, a presentation focused on the epidemiological vigilance platform Epirsurveille and on the digital hospital project, the success of which will depend on the role of the general management in its implementation.
