Several dozen people gathered on Thursday October 2, 2025, in front of the United States Embassy in Tunis, to denounce the Israeli attacks targeting the flotilla Sumud in the Mediterranean and reaffirm their attachment to the Palestinian cause.
In a tense atmosphere, the demonstrators have brandished Palestinian flags and banners of several Arab countries, as a sign of regional unit in the face of what they describe as “Israeli aggression with American complicity”. Slogans, sometimes virulent, reflected a clear will: maintaining diplomatic and popular pressure. Some participants announced that a permanent sit-in could be installed in front of the American Embassy in the coming days.
The Sumud flotilla composed of several boats carrying 25 Tunisian activists, was intercepted in the morning of Thursday. Passengers from different horizons – activists, journalists, public figures and artists – aimed to break the blockade imposed in Gaza.
