Faced with criticisms of the prices charged and to make the space more accessible, the municipality of Tunis has decided to lighten the rental prices of the Belvedere swimming pool for wedding ceremonies.
Bride and groom looking for an original place in Tunis can now count on a more affordable option. The municipality of Tunis has announced a significant revision of the drop in rental prices for the municipal pool of the Belvedere, regularly used as a framework for wedding celebrations.
The manager of the pool management, Najeh Farrej, confirmed, this Thursday, July 10 on Mosaic FM, that the new prices will come into force immediately. The hourly price goes from 2,500 dinars to 1,200 dinars for the period from May to October, and from 1,500 dinars to 800 dinars for the rest of the year, that is to say almost 50% reduction in both cases.
A response to criticism
This decision follows the controversy launched in early June, when Khaled Ben Yedder, director of social affairs at the municipality of Tunis, had made a mistakely compared the Belvedere prices to those of Kobbet Ennahas, a private space. He then mentioned a price of 4000 dinars for an hour in Kobbet Ennahas, before correcting: 1400 dinars for 1:30, while specifying that the two sites are not comparable, one being public and the other private.
This exit had aroused calls for a revision of public prices, deemed excessive for a municipal place. It is now done.
Swimming pool, timetables and activities
In parallel, the opening hours of the swimming pool have been adapted: it will now be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a one -hour lag between each session, each of two hours. The entry rate remains unchanged at 4 dinars per session.
As a reminder, the infrastructure can accommodate up to 75 swimmers, spread over 5 corridors, and any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied. In addition to swimming, the site also offers spaces developed for cultural, sporting and festive activities, as well as a tennis court accessible to the public.
