On the sidelines of the 9th Summit of the Tokyo International Conference on the development of Africa (Ticad 9LA head of the government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, met on Wednesday August 20, 2025 in Yokohama several members of the Japanese parliament. The latter belong to the Tuniso-Japanese friendship group, chaired by Nobuhide Minorikawa.
The interview took place in the presence of the Tunisia ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Chafra, as well as leaders of the Presidency of the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During this meeting, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri praised the initiative of Japanese parliamentarians. She stressed that this is a different diplomatic approach, focused on trust and mutual respect. According to her, the revival of the friendship group is not a protocol gesture but a sign of common political will to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Furthermore, the government’s heading also presented a series of priority projects that Tunisia wishes to implement quickly.
For his part, Nobuhide Minorikawa expressed the interest of Japan to support Tunisia in its development efforts. It has focused on several sectors deemed essential: innovation, modern technologies, higher education, scientific research and renewable energies.
