The government’s chef, Sarah Zaâfrani Zenzri, chaired, this Friday, May 2, 2025 on Friday, May 2025, at the Palais du Gouvernement at the Kasbah, a meeting of the Higher Committee for the acceleration of the realization of public projects, devoted to the examination of the progress of projects in the transport sector faced with execution difficulties, according to a press release from the Presidency of the Government.

These projects concern the rehabilitation of the rail line n ° 6 connecting Tunis to Kasserine, the doubling of the rail line n ° 22 in its section connecting Moknine to Mahdia, the acquisition of 18 cars for the Tunis-La Goulette line (TGM), as well as the project of renovation and modernization of the railways intended for the transport of phosphate.

During this session, the solutions necessary to overcome the obstacles encountered were proposed. It was also decided to immediately launch all the components of the rehabilitation project of the rail line n ° 6 between Tunis and Kasserine, as well as the first tranche of the doubling project of line n ° 22 between Moknine and the station of Sidi Massoud, over a distance of 22 km.

In addition, the necessary legal measures will be taken to remove the damage and overruns noted on the layout of the railways, with a view to fully freeing their land grip, in coordination with all the structures concerned.

The government’s chef insisted on the need for all state structures to effectively coordinate their efforts in order to overcome difficulties, with daily follow -up in the field to solve problems in real time, while holding those who hinder those who hinder the progress of public projects, thus depriving citizens of their use within the expected deadlines.
