The correctional chamber specializing in corruption cases with the Tunis Court of Appeal confirmed the conviction of the businessman Chafik Jarraya in a set of financial affairs.
However, she decided to bring together the sentences pronounced against her, thus reducing the total duration of imprisonment from 101 years to 4 years, according to her lawyer Me Fayçal Jdalloui, quoted by Mosaique FM.
Previously, the correctional chamber specializing in financial corruption of the Tunis court of first instance had examined around twenty files involving Chafik Jarraya in connection with the management and management of commercial companies belonging to it. She had sentenced him to five years in prison for each of 19 files, as well as six years in prison in other cases, in addition to heavy fines.
Jarraya’s defense team had called on all of these convictions. The Tunis Court of Appeal finally decided to group the sentences, thus bringing the total conviction to four years in prison, while lightening the amount of financial fines.
