The National Council of the Order of Physicians announced that it will officially file a complaint against a television program that broadcast an episode presenting the treatment of cancer by non-medical methods, endangering the health of Tunisian citizens.
An attack on unscientific practices
The Council emphasizes that cancer treatment is based on specific medications and clinical protocols validated by specialist doctors. These practices are scientifically proven and constitute the only safe recourse for patients.

The program in question, broadcast Sunday evening on the Al Hiwar Ettounsi channel, promoted the “treatment” based on traditional medicine and plants, presented by an individual without medical training, suggesting that it could replace conventional treatments.
Violation of medical ethics
The National Council of the Order of Physicians of Tunisia, today published a press release specifying that this content, often presented without scientific supervision or warning, disorients the public and can delay the diagnosis or treatment of serious illnesses.
The Council also denounces the promotion of traditional therapy in the media as an alternative or substitute for evidence-based medicine, considering that the presentation of such practices, without rigorous scientific supervision or clear warning, misleads the public, trivializes non-validated methods and exposes citizens to sometimes serious diagnostic or therapeutic delays.
