The Minister of National Defense, Khaled Shili, received on Tuesday April 8, 2025, Javier Colomina, special representative of the secretary general of NATO for the southern voter.

The Minister stressed the importance of adapting this cooperation to new security challenges, emphasizing the fields of training, exchange of expertise and the fight against transversal threats: irregular migration, human trafficking, terrorism and cross -border crime.
He also praised the organization in Tunisia, this year, from the meeting of contact points for the defense capacity building program, believing that this event reflects the solidity of the partnership with NATO and the country’s commitment to regional security.
Javier Colomina, for his part, expressed her satisfaction as to the level of cooperation reached, reaffirming NATO’s desire to make Tunisia an exemplary strategic partner in the region. He praised the stabilizing role played by the country in the Mediterranean, in an international context constantly evolving.
Partner of the Mediterranean dialogue since 1994, Tunisia continues to strengthen its cooperation with NATO, in a logic of trust and mutual engagement.
