The government’s heading, Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri, presided over Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Palais de la Kasbah, a ministerial council devoted to the examination of the urgent solutions to adopt to accelerate the execution of economic and social projects in all sectors. The displayed objective: to overcome the obstacles leading to the realization of these projects and effectively respond to the legitimate expectations of the Tunisian people.
The government’s chef insisted on the need to redouble their efforts and improve coordination between all stakeholders. It underlined the imperative to reduce administrative procedures in the execution of public projects, in accordance with the orientations of the President of the Republic.
Among the strategic projects mentioned are those related to health, including the construction and equipment of new hospitals in several governorates, the rehabilitation of existing medical services and the modernization of the hospital information system.
The education sector is also a priority, with projects on the improvement of school infrastructure, the quality of basic education, vocational training and the integration of young people in the labor market.
The cultural field is not to be outdone. The Council spoke of the restoration of the historic mosque of the Zitouna and the surroundings as well as the rehabilitation of the mosque of King Abdelaziz Al Saoud in Tunis. Environmentally, several programs have been put forward, including wastewater treatment in small municipalities, the fight against pollution in the Lake Bizerte region and the protection of the coast against marine erosion.
Structuring infrastructure projects have also been mentioned, like the Bizerte bridge, the Tunis-Jelma highway and the rapid rail network. The energy field is also at the heart of priorities, with the development of natural gas transport, the electrification of the territory and support for the “digital Tunisia” plan.
The government’s heading concluded by calling for all the ministries concerned to ensure daily follow -up on the ground to guarantee the completion of these projects as soon as possible and with optimal quality.
She also warned that any entity leading to the progress of projects or delaying to solve the problems will be held responsible, while stressing that the government’s presidency services will continue to follow each detail relating to these structuring projects.
