This Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the general supervisors of all schools in Tunisia observed a one -hour protest stop, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., in response to the assault of one of their colleagues.
The movement follows an assault that occurred within the Mohamed Laroui college in the delegation of Sousse Jawhara, where a general supervisor was violently taken to task by a parent of a student, within the establishment.
According to Boubaker Essalmi, secretary general of the General Federation of General Supervisors, affiliated with the Tunisian General Union of Labor (UGTT), this action aims to denounce the rise of violence in the school environment as well as the inaction of the Ministry of Education in the face of this phenomenon.
In a statement granted this morning on Radio Jawhara FM, Essalmi said that “the ministry is content to be a spectator in the face of repeated assaults against educational staff”, calling for a firm and urgent reaction to protect school executives.
