The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians abroad, Mohamed Ben Ayed, received this Wednesday April 2, 2025 the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tunisia, Wan Li. This meeting was an opportunity to examine several files relating to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The two parties reviewed the evolution of the relationships of friendship and cooperation existing between their countries, in particular within the framework of the monitoring of the state visit made by the President of the Tunisian Republic in China at the end of May 2024, as well as high -level visits including those of the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Health in Beijing.
On this occasion, the two officials reaffirmed their determination to continue the implementation of the requirements of the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly with regard to the realization of development projects in several priority areas and the activation of the memorandum of understanding relating to the project of the Medical City of Aghlabides in Kairouan.
Recall that in February 2025, during a visit to China, the Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani had stressed the importance of this flagship presidential project. Considered a major development center, the Aghlabid Medical City is part of a strategic vision aimed at strengthening the Tunisian health sector, attracting investments and facilitating access to advanced medical services. It also aims to position Tunisia as an international medical destination and attract foreign students to its future university institutions.
