Swiss cooperation in Tunisia: 7,000 training beneficiaries and more than 14,000 jobs created

Swiss cooperation in Tunisia continues to bear fruit. According to Fabrizio Poretti, director of Swiss cooperation in Tunis, near 7,000 people benefited from training programs funded by Switzerlandmainly aimed at strengthening employability and promoting job creation.

Guest Friday September 26, 2025 on national radio waves, Buratti recalled that Switzerland counts 103 companies based in Tunisiaoperating in various sectors, including manufacturing industry. These companies alone offer Over 14,000 workstations.

He also pointed out that the Tuniso-Suisse development and cooperation programlaunched in 2014 for a period of ten years, ends this year. A new cycle covering the period 2025-2028 has been set up, focused on economic development, while ensuring a balance between economic and social dimensions.

Investments that matter

For its part, Ahlem Haj Ammar, president of the Tuniso-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that Swiss companies rank tenth in Tunisia in terms of foreign direct investmentbut occupy the Fifth place in terms of job creation.

She cited the example of a Swiss company long established in Tunisia in the building materials sector, which alone employs 3,000 workers.

With such figures, Tuniso-Suisse economic cooperation confirms its engine role, contributing both to theAttractiveness of the Tunisian site and at Reinforcement of the local job market.
