An emotional scene has taken hold of Tunis-Carthage airport. This Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 4 p.m., the First wave of Tunisian prisoners released by Israeli occupation forces arrived on national soil.
These ten citizens were one of the participants in the “Sumud flotilla”Maghreb and international initiative aimed at breaking the blockade imposed in Gaza. Their arrest, which occurred in the Mediterranean Sea after the brutal intervention of the Israeli forces, had aroused a wave of indignation in Tunisia and through the Arab world.
According to the press release from the Sumud coalition this first delegation includes:

- and activists Mohamed Ali Mouhi Eddine,, Aziz melliani,, Noureddine Salaouj,, Abdallah Massaoudi,, Houssam Eddine Romadhi,, Ziyed Jeblaoui,, Hamza Bouzouida,,
as well as actor Mohamed Mrad.
THE collective Sumud called “all free Tunisians and friends of the Palestinian cause” to go to the airport to welcome “the heroes of courage and dignity”.
This return comes after several days of detention and interrogation led by the Israeli authorities. Testimonies relayed by international media have revealed that several detainees, including Tunisians, have suffered physical and psychological violence.
The repatriation of this first delegation marks The start of progressive return From all Tunisian participants, while diplomatic efforts continue to release other members still selected.
