As part of the continuation of work to extend the southern entrance to the capital, section number 3, the Ministry of Equipment and Housing announced temporary changes to traffic at the El Mourouj 1 and 2 crossroads, on national road no. 3 A1.
These disruptions are planned to allow the construction of the wearing course and will affect several time slots over the next week.
On Tuesday, January 6, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., part of the road leading to the crossroads will be closed to traffic for motorists coming from Tunis and heading towards El Yahoudia.
On Thursday January 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day, roundabout no. 3 will be completely closed to traffic.
On Saturday January 10, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., a partial closure is planned on the axis linking the crossroads towards Tunis.
During this period, road users will be able to temporarily use the new bridge and access El Mourouj 2 via the temporary lane set up for this purpose.
The ministry also recommended that residents of El Mourouj 1 and El Mourouj 3 traveling to Tunis use the Miami crossroads as well as the Bir El Kassâa interchange, particularly during the night of Thursday and the day of Saturday.
Finally, the authorities call on all drivers to be extra vigilant, to reduce their speed near work zones and to scrupulously respect the signs put in place in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
