Motorists can now borrow components of the South Tunis entrance project and will see a gradual improvement in traffic.
This Friday, March 28, 2025, several sections and infrastructure in this strategic area were inaugurated.
Among the infrastructure concerned, four bridges are put into service, in particular the main bridge connecting La Goulette and Radès to El Mourouj.
This news comes in a context where the southern entry of the capital undergoes increasing automobile pressure. Many users are impatiently awaiting the finalization of this work, which should streamline traffic and reduce traffic jams during rush hour.
The Ministry of Equipment and Housing has not yet detailed the precise calendar for commissioning new infrastructure, but drivers can expect gradual improvement in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the work continues to ensure compliance with the deadlines announced, the whole project will be finalized towards the end of the current year.
In parallel, the bridges connecting “Miami” to El Mourouj via Radès will also be accessible in the coming weeks, after the opening of the Bir Kassâa – La Goulette section. The project, launched in September 2020, displays an advancement rate of 70 % and its full finalization is scheduled by the end of 2025.
This strategic infrastructure is not limited to a simple road extension: it aims to improve mobility, to support the local economy and to optimize traffic on a major axis of the capital.
