Faced with the development of digital applications in the transport sector, the Ministry of Transport announces a series of reforms intended to modernize the legal framework in force. Among the priorities: the regulation of the use of mobile applications in non -regular public transport, in particular individual taxis.

A call for proposals is in preparation to define the methods of integration of these technological tools, in consultation with professionals in the sector and the parties concerned. The objective is to structure a market in full transformation, while ensuring better transparency and service more suited to users.

At the same time, the ministry is working on the revision of law n ° 33 of 2004 supervising road transport, as well as its application texts, whose decree fixing the operation of regional advisory committees. The legal framework governing the transport stations is also in the process of redesign.

Another current project: the harmonization of prices applied by individual taxis, which will have to align with the requirements of the new digital model envisaged.

It should be remembered that the Ministry of Transport launched several months ago a project to regulate the use and operation of electronic systems and platforms in the activity of unconventional public transport of people on roads (individual taxis).

This initiative is part of the ministry’s desire to better organize and modernize the unconventional transport sector of people, while fully respecting the standards required in terms of competition and transparency.

The objective is to set up a Tunisian digital application, hosted in Tunisia after having satisfied all the cybernetic security conditions and ensured the protection of personal data.
