The session dedicated to social negotiations in the private sector has been postponed to a later date in order to allow the pursuit of consultations between the various parties concerned. The objective is to achieve an agreement guaranteeing social stability and ensuring justice for workers in this sector, reports the Echaâb News site.
This decision was made after a working meeting held in the morning of Friday, May 23, 2025 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Affairs, under the chairmanship of Minister Issam El Ahmar.
Participated two delegations representing the social partners: one under the Tunisian General Union of Labor (UGTT), the other of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Crafts (UTICA).
Workers’ representatives have reaffirmed their attachment to a sectoral negotiation framework, believing that this approach takes into account the specificities of each sector and allows a better balance between production stakeholders. For their part, the employers’ representatives insisted on the need to adopt a central negotiation.
