As part of the fight against smuggling in the southeast border region of Tunisia, agents of the fifth customs guard unit in Médenine managed to thwart a smuggling attempt on a large amount of mobile phones. The latter were skillfully hidden in a car driven by a Tunisian citizen.
According to a press release published this Wednesday, June 4, 2025 by Tunisian customs on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, the car, whose value is estimated at 100,000 dinars, was subject to the unit’s X -ray control scanner. This device made it possible to detect suspect objects hidden in the walls of the vehicle.
The suspect individual was given to the competent security services for the continuation of the investigation. A seizure report has been established, while the total value of confiscated goods is estimated at around 700,000 dinars.
