The secretary general of the General Federation of Secondary Education, Mohamed Safi, confirmed the entry into force of a global boycott of assessments from the second term. This decision, announced Wednesday January 7, 2026, is part of a standoff with the Ministry of Education around salary and administrative agreements deemed not respected. The union assures that it remains firmly committed to the execution of its decisions.
Total boycott of evaluations from the second quarter
The General Federation of Secondary Education has decided: no form of evaluation will be provided from the second term. Speaker on the waves of Diwan fmits general secretary, Mohamed Safi, reaffirmed the commitment of the union structure to strictly apply the decision of the sectoral administrative body.
The watchword concerns all forms of evaluation: oral questions, practical assignments, supervised assignments and compositions. A measure that the federation presents as a lever of pressure in the face of what it describes as non-compliance with contractual commitments on the part of the authorities.
Wage agreements at the heart of the conflict
At the center of the dispute is the agreement of May 23, 2023, which provides for the granting of salary increases spread over three years. According to Mohamed Safi, this agreement should allow teachers to benefit from successive annual increases from January 2026 until January 2028, at a rate of 100 dinars per tranche.
However, according to the federation, this commitment was not implemented as planned, which reignited the anger of the teaching staff and strengthened the union’s determination to maintain the pressure.
The union official also denounced a second breach, this time linked to the promotions file. An agreement provided for their retroactive effect to take effect from July. However, the ministry would have set their application from May, which, according to it, results in financial and administrative harm for the teachers concerned.
For the federation, this unilateral modification constitutes an unacceptable precedent and adds to a series of decisions which weaken trust between the two parties.
