By receiving, Wednesday August 20, 2025 at the Palais de Carthage, the Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, President Kaïs Saïed, According to a press release from the presidencyemphasized the progress of public projects. Hospitals, roads, developments: so many sites supposed to transform the daily life of citizens, but which are struggling to see the light of day.

The Head of State denounced a paradox which nourishes the anger of Tunisians: ready projects, but without execution. “” Some projects, once the studies are completed, see their site changed, which leads to resuming studies from the start and bringing the project back to the starting point, even though the funds are already allocated. It is an unacceptable situation which must cease immediately “, According to the same source.

For the president, these delays can no longer be attributed only to administrative heaviness. They are sometimes of deliberate choice, translating an inertia which he deems dangerous. In this context, Kaïs Saïed insists on the need to hold the managers for accountants of their failures.

He calls for a renewal of administrative elites: replacing ineffective managers with competent graduates, ready to assume responsibilities and learn in a situation. A new generation which he envisages as engaged in a “National Liberation War”turned towards reconstruction and development.

Beyond the infrastructure, the president spoke of another central issue: Access to housing. He highlighted the model of rental-salewhich should allow households to become owners under conditions adapted to their income.
