The President of the Kaïs Saïed Republic and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi spoke, today by phone. According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, the interview focused on bilateral relations and the situation in the region, especially in Gaza.
On this occasion, Kaïs Saïed presented his congratulations to Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and to the Egyptian people on the occasion of the 52ᵉ anniversary of the victory of October 6, 1973 against the Zionist entity. He praised this date as a symbol of Arab unity and national dignity.
The Egyptian President expressed, in turn, his gratitude for this brand of friendship, stressing that the October War remains an example of Arab coordination and solidarity that has made it possible to overcome the regional challenges.
The two heads of state also mentioned the positive results of the 18ᵉ session of the Tunisian-Egyptian High Commission, held in September 2025 in Cairo. They agreed to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economic, security and cultural fields, while intensifying political consultations to meet the common challenges in the region.
Gaza in the center of exchanges
The interview also focused on developments in Gaza, where the humanitarian situation remains dramatic. President Al-Sissi has exposed the efforts made by Egypt to reach a sustainable cease-fire and to promote the implementation of the initiative of the American president Donald Trump aimed at putting an end to the war and to relaunch the process of recognition of a Palestinian state.
He reaffirmed that the essential objective remains the resumption of a political process based on the two -state solution, in accordance with international resolutions.
For his part, Kaïs Saïed praised the Egyptian mediation efforts, in particular in favor of the delivery of humanitarian aid and the categorical refusal of any project of forced displacement of the inhabitants of Gaza.
