A strong symbol of Tunisian modernism and an architectural landmark of the capital, the Hôtel du Lac is about to experience a new life. A work session held this Friday marked a decisive step in the relaunch of the rehabilitation project of this emblematic building in the city center.
A high-level consultation to relaunch the project
The meeting was chaired by Namia Ayadi, president of the Tunisia Investment Authority (TIA), in the presence of El Hedi El Fitouri, CEO of the Libyan Foreign Investment Company (LAFICO), owner of the site, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Tourism.
The participants reviewed the progress of the project and discussed the next operational steps, while reaffirming their common desire to restore the Hôtel du Lac to its place at the heart of the heritage and economic dynamism of Tunis.
A project for urban and heritage renewal
The project plans a significant investment to promote this monument with its unique silhouette, often presented as a symbol of Tunisian brutalist architectural heritage.
The objective is to make it a model of sustainable urban development and tourist influence, in harmony with the ambitions of transforming the city center.
The TIA, in partnership with LAFICO and the Ministry of Tourism, is committed to supporting the project until its realization, with a view to economic and cultural attractiveness for the capital.
