Atmospheric instability increases this Wednesday with sometimes heavy rain, thunderstorms, wind and even localized hail. The northern and central regions are the most exposed, according to the National Institute of Meteorology.
The first precipitation will affect the South-East early in the morning, before passing clouds cover most parts of the country.
Strengthening rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon
As the day progresses, cloud cover will thicken over the western, northern and central regions, where temporarily stormy rains are expected.
These showers will then spread across the whole of the North, the Center-East and locally the South. Quantities will sometimes be significant in the northern coastal areas and in the governorates of Kef, Siliana and Kasserine. Isolated hail remains possible.
Falling temperatures
The wind, from the west, will be relatively strong in the Gulf of Gabès and weak to moderate elsewhere. However, it will strengthen in the afternoon in the Serrat area and the heights, with gusts that can exceed 60 km/h during stormy periods. The sea will be rough in the Gulf of Gabès, and rough to slightly rough on the other coasts.
The maximums will generally oscillate between 15 and 20°C, with cooler values on the western heights, where they will drop to 13°C.
