A meeting of the Regional Road Safety Commission was held recently at the Governorate of Tunis, leading to a series of key decisions, including the installation of automatic radars with the most accident -causing black dots, as well as the implementation of the recommendations of local technical commissions by municipal services and the regional equipment and housing department.

Chaired by the Governor of Tunis, Imed Boukhris, this session also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination with the delegates, as president of the local road safety commissions. The latter will be called upon to provide regular reports and to submit proposals to the Regional Commission. In addition, Reunion called on private companies to support state efforts in road safety.

According to a publication on the official Facebook page of the Governorate of Tunis, the meeting made it possible to examine the issues identified by the General Inspectorate of National Security as being at the origin of traffic accidents.

A report covering the month of May 2025 was presented concerning the field observations carried out in the municipalities of Tunis, La Goulette, La Marsa, Le Bardo and Sidi Hassine. These observations were carried out by local technical commissions on the roads frequently affected by accidents, according to data from the National Center for the Observation of Road Safety.

The objective is to remedy the failures and insufficiencies observed in terms of infrastructure, such as the ground marking, the repair of the signaling panels and the three -color lights, the release of the sidewalks occupied illegally, as well as the withdrawal of the slowders posed without authorization or regulatory standard.
