Professional training: Tunisia wants to double the number of trained by 2030

The Director General of the Tunisian Vocational Training Agency (ATFP), Elyes Cherifannounced an ambitious program aimed at Double the number of people formed by 2030, going from the current 45,000 to nearly 90,000. This initiative is part of the development plan 2026-2030under the aegis of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.

During a visit to Sakiet Ezzit electronics sectoral center for electronics in SfaxMr. Cherif presented the New specialized training platformsespecially in the fields of smart industry 4.0 And installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. According to him, “this effort responds to changes in the job market and the needs of economic players”, stressing that Vocational training is today a strategic issue for the future and a lever for the national economy.

The director also said that ATFP, in coordination with the ministry, focuses on the adequacy between training and trades available on the marketin particular within the framework of Industrial Revolution 4.0. The first training sessions for specialties such as electronics, IT, mechanics and mecatronics will start from February 2026.

In addition, the sector leather and shoes will be the subject of continuous discussion with the National room for leathers and shoesin order to modernize and strengthen the competitiveness of the sector.

With this plan, Tunisia displays its will to meet the growing demand for specialized skillswhile consolidating its economic fabric by training aligned on the real needs of companies and emerging technologies.
