According to data published on Saturday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI), water reserves in Tunisian dams amounted to 669 million m³, an filling rate of 28.3% on September 26, 2025.
This represents an increase of 27% compared to the same period of 2024, but only 9.1% compared to the average of the last three years (612.8 million m³).
Modest water intakes
Northern dams alone concentrate 91.6% of water reserves, or around 613 million m³, with a filling rate of 33.1%. For comparison, the center dams display a low rate of 9.9% (44.7 million m³), while those in Cape Bon reach 18.4% (11.3 million m³).
For the only day of September 26, water intakes were evaluated at 2.62 million m³, almost all recorded in the North dams. The use of water resources was estimated at 1.36 million m³ over the same period.
