During the Council of Ministers held yesterday, the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, stressed the urgency of adopting new approaches to establish sustainable social justice and break definitively with persistent inequalities.

“There will be no social justice without a deep reform of current policies,” he said, insisting on the need for a fair and based on law, guaranteeing a dignified life for all citizens.

The Head of State also called to rethink in depth the concepts and visions which underlie social policies, believing that an overhaul of the foundations is essential.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers examined a draft decree relating to social justice, as well as a text concerning the situation of “sites of the sites”.

In a press release from the presidency, Kais Saied described the conditions of these “unjust” and “inhuman” workers, putting them on the same level as those of long -term unemployed.

He also said that Tunisia is progressing despite attempts at destabilization. “Their maneuvers failed, the people rejected them and history has already condemned them, even before justice intervene,” he said.

The president finally praised the sense of duty and the maturity of the Tunisian people, believing that citizens will not forgive those who have harmed the country.
