The new permanent representative of Tunisia with the United Nations, Nabil Ammar, officially presented his claims to the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, Tuesday April 22 in New York, according to the official website of the United Nations.
The appointment of Nabil Ammar to this post had been activated by the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, who gave him his accreditation letters on March 26, 2025.
Diplomat aged 60, Nabil Ammar has held several high -level functions. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad from February 2023 to August 2024. Previously, he was Ambassador of Tunisia to the European Union and NATO in Brussels in 2020, then Ambassador to Luxembourg in 2021.
From 2012 to 2017, he represented Tunisia in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with residence in London. He also exercised various responsibilities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, notably as Director General for Africa and the African Union (2011-2012), then for Europe, the European Union and the Mediterranean.
Nabil Ammar graduated in management sciences from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the National School of Administration (ENA), Promotion 1991.
