The government’s heading, Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzeri, presided, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Palais du Government at the Kasbah, a restricted ministerial council devoted to the monitoring of the procedures for confiscation, recovery and management of the funds acquired in an illegal and resulting from corruption.
The meeting was held in the presence of Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad, Mechka Salama Khaldi, Minister of Finance, as well as Wajdi Hadhili, Minister of State and Land Affairs, and Mohamed Ben Ayed, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In its opening speech, the government’s heading insisted on the importance of accelerating the work of the commissions in charge of the confiscation and recovery of diverted goods. It has reaffirmed the need for the State to guarantee the return of its properties and ensure effective management of seized assets.
Ms. Zenzeri also called for increased mobilization of all the parties concerned in order to provide a structural and effective solution to this strategic file. It highlighted the importance of a rigorous process not only to restore the spoiled funds, but also to ensure optimal exploitation of confiscated goods, whether they are land, buildings or other assets, in the interest of all Tunisians.
She also assured that monitoring this file will be permanent, directly involving the chairmanship of the government, the ministries concerned as well as the competent authorities.
