Low -income people can acquire land with a reduction of 70% of their value

The Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) of Tuesday, April 8, 2025 published a decision stipulating that the real estate agency for the promotion of housing can acquire land belonging to the State or local communities at preferential prices, provided that you create developed urban areas and reserve part of these land for low -income categories.

The JORT specifies that this decision aims to concretize the recommendations of the President of the Republic, stressing the need to affirm the social role of the State and to make social policy the central pillar of all public policies.

In his commentary on the decision, the president and chief executive officer of the real estate agency for the promotion of housing, Rabeh Aroud, indicated that one of the main characteristics of this measure is his collaborative nature between the ministries of equipment, housing, state and land affairs, as well as local authorities.

He added, in an interview on national radio, that local communities will be able to provide land at the agency at reduced prices, a reduction of 70% compared to the actual value estimated by an expert in state goods.

He said the agency will reserve 50% of the plots available on these land for low -income categories, whose monthly income does not exceed the guaranteed minimum wage three times, or around 1,500 dinars.

Regarding the acquisition procedure, he explained that any person fulfilling the necessary conditions may submit a request, with a priority given to citizens already registered with the agency.
