The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, went on Thursday evening to Dahmani, in the governorate of Kef, where he visited a historic flour mill dating from 1912. This industrial site, formerly emblematic of regional economic activity, is today abandoned.
Occupying an area of almost 9000 m², the establishment employed up to 150 people before its arrest. Faced with the state of dilapidation noted on the spot, the head of state stressed the urgency of implementing concrete solutions to allow the flour mill to resume its activities and revive the local economy.
During her visit, Kais Saied also exchanged with residents of the region. He assured that several draft laws, currently being finalized, aim to meet the expectations of citizens directly in various sectors.
The president has reaffirmed his conviction that Tunisia has considerable human and natural resources, as well as patriotic citizens capable of reviving wealth creation and ensuring fair distribution. According to him, only a firm will and a sincere commitment will effectively respond to the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
