The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, addressed the Tunisian people on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, on the occasion of the new year 2026. In a speech broadcast on the official page of the presidency, the Head of State presented his wishes to the Tunisians, wishing them health, prosperity and dignity.

From the start of his speech, Kaïs Saïed affirmed the desire to continue “the same path, with the greatest speed, while remaining firm and confident”, in order to respond to the legitimate demands of the people, particularly in terms of employment, freedom and national dignity.

The President of the Republic insisted on the fundamental wealth of the country, which he does not limit to natural resources. According to him, Tunisia’s main strength lies in its human capital, described as inexhaustible wealth, made up of men and women of all generations, in Tunisia and abroad.

Referring to the current challenges, Kaïs Saïed estimated that sincere and collective will makes it possible to overcome difficulties and ensure decent living conditions for all citizens. He stressed that the future is built through action, announcing the imminent opening of new perspectives, in particular for young people, called to “carry the torches of light”.

War of liberation on all fronts

The head of state also spoke of a “war of liberation on all fronts”, placing the social question at the forefront of priorities. Social justice has been presented as the basis of stability, wealth creation and employment. In this context, he pleaded for the adoption of new legislation, believing that texts evolve over time and only produce their effects when they are applied by officials animated by a true national spirit and a high sense of responsibility.

Kaïs Saïed also criticized opportunistic behavior and practices hindering the smooth running of public services and projects, affirming that Tunisia does not need those who only seek privileges or media exposure. He called, on the other hand, to mobilize free and committed skills in all sectors, inside and outside the country.

On the international level, the President of the Republic reaffirmed Tunisia’s attachment to its principles and its sovereign choices, rejecting any logic of domination or hierarchy between peoples. “We will remain masters of our land,” he insisted.

Finally, Kaïs Saïed recalled that the demands of the Tunisian revolution are not simple promises, but must be translated into concrete realities. He concluded his speech by reiterating Tunisia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent and fully sovereign state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
