The President of the Republic received at the Carthage Palace the presidents of the two houses of Parliament. At the heart of the discussions: national sovereignty, institutional responsibility and collective mobilization to confront social and economic challenges. Kaïs Saïed insisted on the need for a united front to translate popular expectations into concrete actions.
The Head of State, Kaïs Saïed, welcomed at the Carthage Palace the President of the Assembly of People’s Representatives, Ibrahim Bouderbala, as well as the President of the National Council of Regions and Districts, Imed Derbali.
This meeting takes place in a context marked by strong social and economic expectations. The president reaffirmed Tunisia’s sovereignist orientation and its commitment to act, with legislative institutions, to meet the country’s major challenges.
Sovereignty and popular will
According to the Presidency of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed reiterated Tunisia’s attachment to its national choices and the will expressed by the people. He stressed that each institution is called upon to fully assume its role, while respecting its prerogatives, in order to face pressing social and economic challenges.
The Head of State insisted on the need for continuous and coordinated commitment, believing that current challenges require relentless action and increased coherence between the different authorities.
Central role of youth
Kaïs Saïed also highlighted the human resources and skills available to Tunisia. He expressed his conviction that the country is full of still underexploited potential and that Tunisian youth are able to realize their aspirations, not only through texts and speeches, but above all through tangible achievements.
The president insisted on the need to transform hopes into concrete actions, carried out by committed citizens determined to contribute to national recovery.
Evoking popular expectations, the Head of State affirmed that their realization rests on patriots placing the superior interest of the nation and the dignity of the people above all other considerations. He called for altruism and self-sacrifice to combat injustice, unemployment and forms of exclusion that undermine social cohesion.
Call for unity and political warning
These priorities, he underlined, constitute the basis of any political action aimed at restoring confidence and responding to the deep demands of Tunisian society.
In this context, Kaïs Saïed urged the various national forces to close ranks and move in the same direction, in accordance with the path traced by the people. He affirmed his determination to meet the challenges ahead and to confront the currents that he describes as retrograde, accused of wanting to slow down or reverse the process underway.
