The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, welcomed on Monday afternoon April 7, 2025, at the Palais de Carthage, Ms. Meshkât Salama Khalladi, Minister of Finance.

During this meeting, the Head of State insisted on the importance of strengthening efforts in the financial field, in particular to clean up certain corrupt institutions. He stressed that the self -sufficiency option is not just a slogan, but must materialize in facts and actions. The president also mentioned the importance of fair taxation and the reduction in imports that benefit a limited minority. These measures, according to him, are essential to carry out the financial balances necessary for the stability of the country.

He added that the search for new markets for Tunisian exports is not only necessary, but also crucial for economic growth. However, the importation of non -essential goods, accompanied by low taxes for importers, cannot allow the expected tax justice to be achieved.

In conclusion, President Saïed reaffirmed that Tunisia remains open to international cooperation, but in respect of its national choices, aimed at serving the interests of its economy and to meet the legitimate expectations of its people.
