The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, had an interview with his Algerian counterpart on Wednesday evening, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers.
This meeting isCrit as part of the official visit of the Tunisian Head of State in Algeria, where he participated in the 4ᵉ edition of the African Intra-African Trade Fair, organized from September 4 to 10 under the slogan “The access door to new opportunities”.
Beyond the protocol nature, the interview made it possible to evoke the historical links between Tunisia and Algeria, two neighboring countries united by common strategic interests. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, energy and transport, at a time when the two countries seek to consolidate their gateway role towards African markets.
Kaïs Saïed’s participation in this continental meeting mainly reflects the interest of Tunisia to register more actively in the dynamics of the African continental free trade area (ZLECAF).
For Tunis as well as for Algiers, this fair constitutes a privileged platform to multiply economic partnerships, attract investments and promote the export of their products and services to the entire continent.
