The investigating judge with the judicial center for the fight against terrorism in Tunis decided to release a group of Russian nationals arrested in an isolated military zone in Haidra, in the governorate of Kasserine.
These people had been arrested while they were in a classified perimeter prohibited military zone. Their suspicious presence in this sensitive region had immediately raised suspicion of belonging to a terrorist organization and espionage in favor of a foreign state.
However, according to a well -informed source contacted by Mosaic FM, the liberation decision was taken after a series of in -depth surveys, technical expertise and judicial verifications which were carried out within the framework of the case.
The investigations, authorized by justice, finally made it possible to dismiss the initial accusations of terrorism and espionage. No convincing element was held against Russian detainees, which led the investigating judge to order their release.
This case had aroused many questions about the reasons for the presence of foreign nationals in a prohibited military zone in Tunisia, in a regional context marked by strong security tensions.
However, Tunisian authorities have not provided more details on the activities of released persons or the possible consequences of the administrative or diplomatic investigation.
