The President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, chaired on Thursday May 22, a council of ministers marked by promises of deep reforms. At the opening of the meeting, he praised the abolition of subcontracting in the Labor Code, which he described as a major victory for workers’ rights.
“As joy entered yesterday with the suppression of subcontracting, it will soon extend to all other sectors,” he said, evoking radical solutions which, according to him, will definitively turn the page of a “hateful” past.
The Head of State also insisted on the harmony between the executive and legislative powers, which he considers as the result of the same popular will. He concluded his speech on a note of hope: “a bright future, enlightened by justice, freedom and national dignity, is close to those who know how to see it”.
This discourse is part of the continuity of the political line of President Saïed, focused on rupture with old practices and the establishment of a new model based on popular sovereignty.
