Tunisia and the Chinese group Huawei are discussing strengthening their cooperation in intelligent transport and the digitalization of port, airport and railway infrastructures.
Tunisian-Chinese cooperation in the field of intelligent transport reaches a new stage. The Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, received, Monday December 22, 2025, a group of officials from the Chinese company Huawei, world leader in information and communication technologies, in the presence of several ministry executives.
On this occasion, the minister praised the solidity of relations between Tunisia and China, emphasizing the common desire of the two countries to elevate their partnership to a higher level, in accordance with the political orientations of the two States. He insisted on the importance of leveraging successful international experiences in smart transportation, particularly in the digitalization of ports, airports, land border crossings as well as road and rail transport networks.
According to the ministry, this orientation is part of an approach aimed at improving the quality of services, strengthening productivity and raising safety standards in a transport sector facing structural and organizational challenges. The development of information systems and digital solutions thus appears to be a strategic lever for modernizing existing infrastructures.
