The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received, Friday August 8, 2025at the Palais de Carthage, the head of the government, Sara Zaâfrani Zenzri. This interview made it possible to take stock of several economic and social issues, while reaffirming principles of justice and transparency.

Social justice, memory and truth
Saïed paid tribute to historical figures of unionism and nationalism, including Farhat Hached and Tahar Haddad. He called for a rigorous accountability: “Neither privileges, nor impunity. We want the funds to return to the people, and that the work of national unity resumes.”
Also evoking his personal memories, the president mentioned the “Tuesday black” of January 3, 1984where his classmate, the martyr Fadhel Sassi, fell.
“Tunisia will remain standing … and we will act with the transparency of the victims, without turning around the pot”he concluded.

As a metaphor, Saïed closed his words with a story:
“Do not behave like the wolf that eats sheep. I speak to you in all sincerity, without going wrong, in the interest of the people.” This imagined wink highlights his call for a sincere and without pretense relationship between power and the nation.
