The Ministry of Health warned, this Friday, August 29, of the dangers linked to certain semi-permanent nail polish. These products contain a chemical called Diphenyl oxide Triméthylbenzoyl phosphine (TPO). Analyzes have shown that this molecule is toxic and carcinogen.
In its press release, the ministry asked citizens to avoid buying or using this type of varnish. He also recalled the importance of carefully reading the list of ingredients before any use. Beauty centers are also invited not to apply or market these products.
This measure follows the example of the European Union, which has already prohibited the use of TPO. Tunisian health authorities assure that they closely follow international decisions in the field of cosmetics security. They also claim that they will take all the necessary measures to protect the health of consumers.
