France reacted to the heavy convictions pronounced on April 18 against several people accused of “conspiracy against state security”, including French nationals.

“Several French, European, European and affinity diplomats went to the Tunis court of first instance during the three hearings in order to mark the attention with which we follow this file, in accordance with Tunisian sovereignty. However, diplomats and journalists were not authorized to follow that of April 18, “said the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
France also underlined its attachment to independent principles of justice, to the right to a fair trial. However, she recalled her respect for Tunisian sovereignty, indicating that her follow -up of the file is part of this framework.
