The Global Sumud Flotilla, an international initiative aimed at breaking the Israeli blockade from Gaza, announced that its departure, initially scheduled for Wednesday, is postponed to Thursday or Friday due to unfavorable weather conditions and incomplete logistical preparations. The Maghreb component, which was to leave on Sunday, had already been delayed for technical reasons.
In recent days have been marked by incidents on the ships of the flotilla. The “Alma” ship, moored at the port of Sidi Bou Saïd, was targeted Tuesday evening by an alleged drone, without injury or major damage. The incident follows the fire on Monday on board the “family”, already suspected of a drone attack but disputed by the Tunisian authorities.
Despite these events, the crew confirms the absence of significant structural damage and remains determined to continue the road to Gaza. The flotilla, made up of around twenty ships from 44 countries, transports symbolic humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population.
