The Hajj season 1446 h/2025 began this Sunday, May 18 with the departure of the first Tunisian pilgrims since Tunis-Carthage airport 2.

This year, 10,982 Tunisians will perform the pilgrimage, including 60 % of women. The youngest pilgrim is 23 years old, the oldest is 92.

Departures will get away until June 2, with 43 flights divided between the airports of Tunis, Sfax, Djerba, Gabès, Tozeur, Gafsa and Tabarka. In all, 18 flights will go to Medina and 25 to Djeddah.

To prepare the faithful, the Ministry of Religious Affairs organized training in several regions. The pilgrims met with the members of the supervisory mission, made up of 330 people, including guides, doctors and logistics managers.

Accommodation in Mecca is planned less than 700 meters from the mosque, facilitating the accomplishment of rites.

The Tunisian authorities, in coordination with the Saudi services, claim that all the measures are taken to ensure a safe pilgrimage. The Ministry of Health recalled the health instructions, while pilgrims are invited to come to the airport five hours before departure, provided with all their documents.
