Friday, April 4, 2025, the criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance pronounced a heavy conviction against three individuals involved in an orchestrated flight in a fundraising company.
Three men, a driver, a conveyor and a cashier from a company specializing in the transport of funds, were sentenced to 16 years in prison each for having stolen 200,000 dinars during a money transfer operation from a banking agency in Bab Souika.
Initially, the three accused had brought a well -established story to the authorities: an armed robbery in broad daylight. But the investigators, supported by video surveillance and meticulous work carried out by the media judicial police brigade, quickly demystified this version.
The investigation revealed that the attack was just a staging. The three accomplices had planned each detail, from the false robbery to the hiding place in which they had hidden the money. After simulating the assault, they hid the loot in a remote area in the Khaled Ibn El Walid district, in the Douar Hicher region, in anticipation of dividing it. But the investigators, thanks to meticulous investigations, updated their ploy.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, the suspects finally admitted their crime. They revealed the place where the money had been hidden, allowing the authorities to recover the entire stolen sum.
