This Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the former President of the Republic and former President of the Assembly of People’s Representatives, Fouad Mebazaa, died at the age of 91.
Fouad Mebazaa held the Presidency of the Republic from January to December 2011, after the fall of Ben Ali, as acting president. Member of the Democratic Constitutional Rally under the Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali regime, he presided over the Chamber of Deputies from 1997.
