The Tunisian medical world is in mourning. There professor Saïda Ben Bchirone of the greatest figures of the pediatrics in Tunisiadied this Tuesday, October 7, 2025, announced the Tunisian Society of Pediatrics in a press release.
Old president of the Tunisian Pediatric Society for six years, the deceased also directed the pediatric emergency department of the Tunis Children’s Hospital until his retirement.
Throughout his career, Saida Ben Bchir stood out for its exemplary dedication to children’s healthits commitment to development of medical education and its contribution to the training of several generations of Tunisian pediatricians.
The Tunisian Society of Pediatrics saluted the memory of a woman “model of rigor, humanity and self-sacrifice”, addressing its deepest condolences to his family, colleagues and former students.
