A new corruption file shakes the governorate of Kasserine. This Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the prosecution near the Kasserine court of first instance ordered custody of five people, including a former head of service to the regional equipment department, a concrete engineer, a site controller, an architect and an entrepreneur.
This measurement comes within the framework of an investigation relating to serious suspicions of embezzlement in the execution of public works in the region. According to Imed Omri, spokesperson for the courts of Kasserine and first assistant to the public prosecutor, these arrests follow a complaint filed by the governor of the region denouncing major irregularities in public projects.
In addition, six other suspects have been summoned to appear in a state of freedom, pending the results of the investigation.
