On April 8, 2025, Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians abroad, opened the consular study days, an unprecedented event organized at a distance for all Tunisian diplomatic and consular missions around the world.
This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, aims to improve the quality of the consular services rendered to Tunisians from abroad and to guarantee their safety when they return to Tunisia during the summer holidays.
In his speech, the minister stressed the importance of this meeting to strengthen the management of the needs of the Tunisian community abroad. He insisted on the need for a quick and effective response, particularly with regard to travel documents and visa requests. A close coordination work between the various state institutions is, according to him, essential to meet the expectations of Tunisians residing abroad and foreigners soliciting visas.
Nafti also recalled the importance of the role of the heads of diplomatic and consular missions, encouraging them to provide the best possible services to the diaspora. He welcomed their constant efforts to defend the interests of Tunisia and its citizens around the world, while emphasizing their commitment to offer an optimal reception to those who need it.
The first day of the consular days made it possible to create a real dialogue between the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and the heads of diplomatic and consular missions. This constructive exchange made it possible to identify current obstacles and to discuss practical solutions to improve the efficiency of consular services.
